Use Energy Wisely

Download the Use Energy Wisely brochure PDF and complete the guide as your first step to better energy management. By taking a few minutes to evaluate the electric equipment in your home or business, you can gain a better understanding of what it costs to operate each individual electric item.

You can also visit the Dairyland Power Cooperative site and click on the Home Energy Savings Guide to find out ways you can save energy in your home or business.

You can use this to create an awareness of your lifestyle and what effects it can have on your energy budget. Take a few moments to make this your first step to better energy management. One of the best things you can do to better understand your energy usage is to read your meter every day at about the same time. It's also a good idea to make a note next to the meter reading about any electric appliances or equipment used during each day or any changes in your lifestyle that may affect your usage. (More company so more hot water used, etc.) This may help you find out if there is a problem or if your usage is just the result of the electric equipment you use and/or your lifestyle.

Another website to visit is the Home Energy Saver site at http://hes.lbl.gov sponsored by the Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection Agency. This website is for homeowners and renters who want to reduce their energy bills.
