Is it time to replace your old water heater? Invest in an energy efficient electric water heater available from Richland Electric Cooperative. We currently stock two brands of electric water heaters, A.O. Smith and Marathon. Both electric water heaters surround the entire water heater with foam insulation to minimize heat loss.

The 85 gallon and 105 gallon residential Marathon water heater has a lifetime tank warranty while the A.O. Smith 80 gallon water heater has a 6 year warranty on the tank. Both have a 6 year warranty on parts. The 85 gallon and105 gallon commercial ag Marathon carries a 10 year tank warranty and 3 year parts warranty.

The water heater program requires that a load management radio receiver be connected to the electric water heater. The radio receiver is used to shut off power to the water heater during "peak hours" when the demand for electricity is high. There is no charge to have the receiver installed. Existing receiver installations require inspection of the receiver and/or upgrade to the new digital receivers now in use.

Contact the office for current pricing. You are responsible for picking up the water heater from our office and for having it installed. Once the load management receiver is connected to the water heater, a credit of $3 per month is applied to your electric bill, subject to the minimum kilowatt hour (kWh) usage policy in effect.
